Traditional Archery Championship
2010 Event Rules
- Everyone entering the facility must be registered, sign a waiver, and possess an event pass. No Exceptions, This includes vendors and visitors
- Pets must be on a leash.
- No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs, violators will be required to leave the facility.
- Quiet hours 10:00pm to 6:00am. No generators running during these hours.
- Participants will be allowed to enter the facility at 8:00am on Friday May 28.
- Shooting allowed only on designated ranges.
- Campfires may or may not be allowed depending on weather conditions, and shall be supervised.
Range Rules
- An adult or guardian shall supervise all participants under the age of 16.
- No shooting allowed when ranges are closed.
- Participants shall not walk with an arrow nocked on the string.
- Competitors will not be allowed on the ranges until they open on Friday May 28.
- With the exception of the Ultimate Traditional Archer class, competitors will only compete in one class/division.
- No practice rounds. First time ranges are shot must be for score.
- Ranges must be shot in numerical order beginning with target #1.
- Competitors will not approach targets prior to shooting.
- Competitors must have some portion of their body touching the stake while shooting a target.
- Use of range finders/binoculars on ranges is prohibited.
- Wood/aluminum/carbon or aluminum carbon composites arrows may be used for competition.
- Primitive class must shoot wood or cane arrows.
- No release aids. Competitors may use a tab or glove and must shoot split finger or three fingers under (Apache Draw).
- Competitors will use one anchor and one nocking point, and arrows will be shot off bow shelf or hand. No elevated rest.
- No stabilizers, counterweights on bow.
- No sights, marks, or paint on bow to aid aiming.
- The total points of both courses will determine winners. Ties will be broken by dropping the first points on Range A then Range B if necessary.
- Men will shoot from red stake.
- Women and youths age 12 to 16 will shoot from white stake.
- Cubs/Chipmunks age 11 and under will shoot from the blue stake.
- Complaints/rule violations will be settled by the Rules Committee. Their decision is final.
Target Scoring
5 points: Any hit on target outside of scoring rings, arrow must stick in target.
8 points: Arrow cutting line or within large scoring ring.
10 points: Arrow cutting line or within small scoring ring.
