Letter from the President
Dave Haggist
Despite the rain and hail on Friday and the rain predictions throughout the weekend, NCTAC was a success. We had 301 shooters and comments indicated folks had a great time. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our members that either attended or helped with this event. As always, a special thanks to our club officers who worked countless hours to ensure NCTAC was a success.
CTA recently reached an important milestone with 135 members. This is the highest membership we have ever had and speaks well of our organization. Thanks to all that renewed your membership and a heartfelt welcome to our new members. I want to encourage everyone to invite an acquaintance to one of our monthly shoots. Remember; first time attendees shoot and eat for free.
A review of member surveys gave us a lot of great ideas for the future. Many of these ideas will be implemented immediately and others will be phased in over the next several months. We also received some great ideas for our monthly seminars. What we need now are members willing to pass on their knowledge and present a brief seminar.
Listed below are some of the ideas:
Arrow fletching…fletch splicing…string making
Archery instruction…primitive tackle making
Primitive skills…hunting tips; specific game animals
Bow fishing…flint knapping…tree stand safety
Woodmanship skills…Dutch oven cooking…arrow making
Quiver building…primitive bow making…camping equipment
Best regards,
Dave Haggist
